Someone once said that there are only two seasons in Florida: hot, and hot with dead leaves all over the place. If you’ve found yourself bombarded with a lawn full of leaves, are you doomed to a fate of endless raking? Not necessarily. Consider a few alternatives.
First, you could use a leaf blower. Sure, this is probably a no-brainer, but a lot of people disregard this option as not being a cost-effective option. However, they might not be considering how much physical labor this option avoids.
Second, you might try using your lawnmower a bit more. Most mowers have a bagging attachment that allows you to collect the leaves rather than just shred them. Additionally, certain species of trees drop leaves that have actually been found to release precious nitrogen into a lawn, reducing weed growth and promoting grass growth. While it may take a few extra passes to get the leaves bagged or chopped enough, this may be a great option.
