If you own a commercial building that has had limited use through this pandemic due to restrictions or other reasons, there’s a chance that the energy bill seems to be higher than expected. If that’s the case, it could be that there is an appliance that is drawing more power than it should be, or there is some kind of damage to a circuit.
While that sounds like this has the potential to be a very costly problem, in many cases there may be a relatively simple solution. Regardless, the first thing you’ll need to do is identify the source of the power draw. Thermal imaging is one of the easiest ways to do just that. A thermal imaging camera can be used to identify the hottest circuit at your circuit breaker. Once that’s identified, you’ll need to figure out which appliances are on that circuit by turning off all other circuits. Once you’ve identified the culprit, you’re halfway to a solution to eliminating the power draw!
