As we all work hard at staying home, there are certain precautions we’re becoming used to taking before we go into the outside world for necessary business. Social distancing, face masks, and things like these help us avoid the coronavirus that causes COVID-19. However, there is still a chance that you could transfer the virus from surfaces to your hands or other items. How can you keep the virus from entering your home?
Some people have set up “sanitation stations” inside their home, where items brought into the home can be (1) dipped into a sanitizing solution, then (2) dipped into clear water as a rinse. Items that can’t be dipped could be wiped with a disinfectant solution. If you don’t have access to a commercial product, a solution as simple as water and 2% bleach could be enough to kill the virus.
Even if you’re not bringing any items into your home, you might use a similar solution to wipe down common touchpoints in your home like doorknobs, light switches, and countertops. We hope these suggestions help keep you and your property free of viruses!
