Here in Florida, summertime heat can be extremely uncomfortable. Understandably, many people either own a window unit air conditioner, or have a central air conditioning system in their home. Over the years, these outstanding machines can perform so well that we start to take them for granted. However, when they stop working at peak efficiency – or stop working altogether – they can become a pretty big burden, and can be very costly to replace.
However, before you jump straight into replacing your air conditioning system, you might consider some ways that thermal imaging can help you identify the specific problem. For example, bad connections can often generate a lot of heat, which is easily identified through infrared. Also, if a condenser unit has a clogged coil, thermal imaging can identify exactly which coil is clogged. Finally, an inspection with thermal imaging can easily identify leaking seals or joints in the ductwork.
