This month, we’ve got water heaters at the top of our minds. They’re a part of your home that a lot of people overlook. However, we’re going to highlight the pros and cons of having a tankless water heater (in this post) and also some simple ways to check in on your traditional water heater with a tank (in our next post).
The pros and cons of a tankless water heater are relatively simple, and are closely related. The primary “pro” is that a tankless water heater can help your home be more energy-efficient. Traditional water heaters with a tank will turn on and off throughout the day – even when no one’s at home to demand hot water – to keep a reservoir of water at temperature.
One of the primary cons, though, is that since tankless water heaters need to be installed close to your faucet/plumbing fixtures. This means that an obtrusive heater could be taking up valuable cabinet space.
